前回の記事の続き、折角なので元の文章を意訳してみました。まあ、だいたいこんな感じで会話してる、という感じがつかめていただけたら幸いです。

アメリカ合衆国大統領(POTUS)として働くことと、家族や趣味とのバランスをどうとっているんですか？
オバマ大統領：そりゃ難しいよね。ぶっちゃけ仕事以外で中心となるのはミシェル（奥様）や娘たちと過ごす時間がきっちり取れているようにすること。僕にとってスゴくいいのは、職場の上に住んでるから通勤時間が全くないこと。だからワシントンDCにいるときには夕方６時３０分に必ず家族と食事をするようにしてるんだ、たとえその後下に降りて夜に大統領執務室で仕事をしなくてはいけなくてもね。毎朝必ず運動するし、仕事の喧騒から抜け出すためになるべく週末バスケやゴルフを楽しむようにしてるよ。あ、バランスといえばDCで夕ごはん食べるためにそろそろ行かなくっちゃ。Redditのみんなに参加してくれたことを感謝したいよ。これはインターネットやテクノロジーが、僕らの会話（のようなもの）を促進して、長い目で見れば僕らの民主主義を強化するいい例だと思う。そして１１月にはちゃんと投票してね。どうやって登録したらよいかわからなかったら、Gottaregister.comにいくといい。ところでredditでの体験を僕がどう思ってるか知りたい？「悪くないよ！」と答えておくよ。

It's hard - truthfully the main thing other than work is just making
sure that I'm spending enough time with michelle and the girls. The
big advantage I have is that I live above the store - so I have no
commute! So we make sure that when I'm in DC I never miss dinner with
them at 6:30 pm - even if I have to go back down to the Oval for work
later in the evening. I do work out every morning as well, and try to
get a basketball or golf game in on the weekends just to get out of
the bubble. Speaking of balance, though, I need to get going so I'm
back in DC in time for dinner. But I want to thank everybody at reddit
for participating - this is an example of how technology and the
internet can empower the sorts of conversations that strengthen our
democracy over the long run. AND REMEMBER TO VOTE IN NOVEMBER - if you

you want to know what I think about this whole reddit experience - NOT
